This utlity hunter features a naturally aged Mule Deer Antler handle which has been mortised for a nicer feel in the hand. This antler has touches of pink on the front side and tan/grey tones on the back side, which comes from the way the sun and elements react to the horn as it lays on the ground. Randy sinew wrapped the handle at the blade and added a leather strap through the brass thong hole, onto which he attached a faux elk tooth. The 1/16 flat stock CPM 154 blade (59-60 RC) is acid etched to give the blade an antique patina. Randy also etched a "bear paw" on the back for a nice touch. The advantage of a thin flat blade is that it is light to carry and can be sharpened repeatedly without getting into thicker steel. He also built an intregal guard to prevent slippage while gutting and skinning. A distressed cow hide pouch sheath is included.
